We are a membership organisation, directed by a diverse membership of employers and training providers. Working together, the network of members across the country are working to recognise, develop and improve the skills needed to be successful within the technical theatre and live music industries.

Industry Membership
Industry members are employers within the sector who want to make training more relevant to our sector needs.
If the employer you work for is an industry member you automatically become a member also. This means you can enjoy the benefits of having free access to our membership website and relevant training and events, many with discounts for NSA members.

Training Provider Membership
We currently have 20 Founder Colleges, which are located in all nine English regions reaching over 400,000 learners across 96 campuses. Colleges have been selected by the NSA Board based on an excellent track record in teaching and learning in the performing and visual arts, geographical reach and an ability and willingness to engage with cultural sector employers.
If your college is a Founder College or approved training provider, you have free access to the membership website and relevant events. If you are in full time or part-time education the NSA can offer you clear careers advice on employment in the technical theatre and Live Music Event industries. Through our annual Offstage Choices° programme, we work with our Founder Colleges and Industry Members to provide careers events specifically focused on the wide range of jobs available in the sector along with access to online activities, to guide you in your choices of work experience, career possibilities and course choices.
Our network of 20 Founder Colleges is complete but we are always interested to hear from other training providers who wish to work with us. If you are interested in working with one of our Founder Colleges as part of our extended network, please contact us.
Specialist Higher Education Institutions
As of June 2010 the NSA is inviting applications for membership from Specialist Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The NSA wish to welcome a small group of HEIs into our growing membership network of Colleges and Industry Members. The purpose of which is to further enhance our offer within Technical Theatre and Live Music, providing additional opportunities and resources for individuals aspiring to place themselves in the industry, and offering further exposure for HEIs across the country.
